I have a title:

THE WISH LIST

I'll be writing under the name of Gabi Stevens for this contemporary paranormal series. The first book appears in May 2012.

Kristin Montgomery’s uncomplicated life as a CPA in San Diego, California, transforms into chaos when she discovers her three aunts are fairy godmothers and she’s next in line for the job. Her organized existence disappears like magic. No, not like magic; it is magic.

I hope you enjoy Kristin's adventures in magic, especially as she has to deal with a surly arbiter, a pesky sprite, and a suave French sorcerer.

I have also launched a new website under my pen name. You can visit me there at www.gabistevens.com

My agent has just negotiated a three book deal with TOR books. My new series is a contemporary paranormal romance. Every seventy-five years, the safeguards protecting the magical world are weak because new protectors are put in place. This time, someone is trying to take over. Three special women will have to save the world. Don't mess with them. They are the new Fairy Godmothers!

The series is called THE TIME OF TRANSITION, but the individual titles are changing. I will post them as soon as I know them. The release dates for the novels are May 2010, April 2011, and March 2012.

I will also be taking on a pen name for the new series. I don't know what it will be yet. But because of the new identity and the new start to my writing career, I will be building a new website. Don't worry, I won't give this one up, but I will keep you posted if you are interested in the new and exciting turn in my career. No, I haven't given up historicals, but I am so excited to be writing these new books.

Another review is in for WHITE ROSE. From Reading New Mexico (www.readingnewmexico.com/Fiction.html):

Alessandra Whiting is not your everyday damsel in distress. When her loathsome uncle threatens to marry off the beautiful twenty-year-old in a bid to control her fortune, Alessandra takes matters into her own hands and arranges her disappearance. Masquerading as Rose White, she joins a group of women sailing for Sedona, Oregon as potential brides. Their party is led by the kindly Reverend Perkins and the rakish Deverell “Dev” Blake who is only along for the ride.

At this point, White Rose could have degenerated into a predictable costume romance. Instead, Gabriella Anderson adds intriguing secondary characters that help the cosseted Ms. Whiting make her transformation to the farm girl she claims to be.

The trip from Boston to Oregon is well written and provides a chance for the reader to get to know Anderson’s characters. By the time they arrive, all is in place for the rest of the story to unfold.

Dev returns to Oregon to find his brother missing leaving him in charge of his pregnant sister-in-law, nephew, and young sister. Rose is trying to fit into the community of the bride’s dormitory for her hiding place until she can return to Boston at twenty-one to claim her inheritance. The last thing either of them wants is a marriage despite the steadily growing attraction between them. A low-life private detective is on the trail of the missing heiress and provides a satisfying subplot.

When it all comes together in a very satisfying ending, you know you’ve had an excellent read.

The first review of WHITE ROSE is in. Read what Kate Garrabant of Romance Reviews Today has written about the novel:

WHITE ROSE is a lovely romance between a woman on the run and the man who comes to love her even though he doesn't know the true Rose White. Some readers may not be a fan of a heroine who keeps secrets from the hero, but in this case, it makes sense and adds to the story. If I were in Alessandra's shoes, I would have done the same thing because of the fear of being found and taken back to a man who wants to control me.

I adored Dev to pieces because he is such a wonderful hero. This is a man who cares about others before himself. He is understanding, intelligent, and very sexy. The way he is with Alessandra is so sweet, and even though she is able to wrap him around her little finger, Dev doesn't allow Alessandra to manipulate him. These two come to love each other and that was really nice to see because their initial introduction was not a friendly one.

Gabriella Anderson has come up with some other great characters such as the Reverend Jacob, who is a great friend to Dev and Dev's immediate family, who welcome Alessandra with open arms. There is also a woman from Dev's past who wants him back, and she is a nasty piece of work and is just as greedy as Paul. The women who come to Oregon to start a new life have some interesting stories that held my interest and become great supporters of Alessandra, especially when she needs help with household duties.

If you are in the mood for the sweeter side of romance, WHITE ROSE by Gabriella Anderson may be just the book you are looking for. With some great characters, a romance that really held my interest, and a very different type of setting this is one book that you should definitely check out.

Not too bad, huh?

The review is set to appear at the website www.romrevtoday.com around October 1, 2008. And on December 6,  I will be the featured artist at Free Book Friday (http://www.freebookfriday.com/), a site that promotes books and gives them away.

I will also be speaking at our annual Red River Retreat, Oct 24- 26 in Red River, New Mexico.

Here it is, my book cover for WHITE ROSE.

The last place heiress Alessandra Rose Whiting thought she'd settle is the Wild West of the Oregon backcountry.  A spoiled but good hearted woman, Alessandra escapes the machinations of her uncle by joining a ship of brides headed for the west coast. The last person she expected to find there is the man of her dreams. Can she reconcile her assumed identity with the woman she really is without losing everything she's found?

Remember, it's coming out September of 2008. Start bugging your local library to buy it for you.

White Rose

I've sold another book to Five Star Expressions.  WHITE ROSE is my anti-western. As many of you know, westerns are not my favorite subgenre, with a few exceptions (Jodi Thomas, for example). So I wrote this one with no cowboys or saloons, and horses only used for transportation, not as best friends. If you remember the TV show "Here Come the Brides" you'll understand the basic premise of the book. A ship of brides comes from Massachusetts to Oregon, an event that actually happened by the way.

More details will follow. I don't even know when the book will be released yet.
